Hey, gang!

It's been almost 2 years since the creation of this message board and in that time, our community has gone from few more than a dozen members to nearly 1,000 enthusiastic horror convention fans. Given this quick spurt of growth and the presence of so many new additions to our family in such a short amount of time, I thought it might be pertinent to do a revamping and re-posting of the rules for the From Dusk till Con message board and all of the forums that fall under it's umbrella.

Luckily, during the time this message board has been active, we have had a very small amount of instances where moderation has been necessary.

We don't have a great amount of rules as we like to keep things as free flowing and organic as possible, but in the interest of promoting a (mostly) positive community where everyone feels able to freely contribute, we do have to lay down a few (mostly common sense) ground rules:

1) Any form of language that conveys any manner of racism, sexism, or any other form of discrimination will NOT be tolerated and will result in IMMEDIATE AND PERMANENT DISMISSAL from the message board.

2) Flame baiting of any kind (ie. making posts with the sole intent of inciting a volatile reaction from another member/s or posts of a belligerent/bullying nature) is not allowed. Users who are found to be in violation of this will be issued a warning against this kind of behavior. Repeated violations can result in temporary suspension and/or dismissal from the message board.

3) While opinions of all kinds, pro and con, are welcome on the boards, please make sure that all of it is done constructively. Excessive cheerleading or excessive trashing of any particular convention, guest, or other entity will be moderated. You are free to state your opinions and express them in a thoughtful and well articulated manner, but please be as mindful as possible to keep conversations insightful and productive

4) As a community, we hope to express our love for the convention scene by fairly representing all conventions. Any drawing of lines in the sand between conventions or their fans will NOT be tolerated. Convention drama and gosspiry will not be tolerated either and will result in a warning and appropriate moderation.

5) The views and opinions expressed on these forums do NOT in any way represent the views of From Dusk till Con, its moderators, or any of its staff.

Thanks, folks! We hope to have you as members of our community well into the future and hope to see you at the next convention!
