“Room for Rent” is the second feature film from Richard Tanner and A Buck Short Prodcutions. Hot on the heels of their first film “Once Upon a Nightmare,” “Room for Rent” is making a mark as a found footage horror film told almost entirely through social media. Filled with emotion, heart and a ton of scares, this film will definitely make you think twice about your next home.

The cast is comprised of some Buck Short regulars and a few new but familiar faces. Samuel Wise stars as David Bagley. Sam has been tearing up the theater scene at Georgia Southern and making a name for himself with several web series’ and independent films. Libby Blanton makes her way back to Buck Short as Sarah Bagley, David’s sister and the costar of the film. Libby has not been taking it easy since her role in Once Upon A Nightmare, in fact she may be the hardest working woman in the Atlanta film scene, practically doubling her projects in the last year. Joining the cast for the first time was scream queen Erin Brown. Erin is known mainly for… well… everything. With over 80 acting credits, Erin was able to blow the entire production out of the water. All the actors involved were amazing and brought more depth and emotion to it than any independent horror film deserves.

The Buck Short crew, Richard Tanner (writer/director), Danielle Page (producer) and Daniel Whitton (everything else), challenge themselves to create a film on a miniscule budge that would still appeal to die hard fans and mainstream audiences alike. The film is more experimental than most found footage because it takes a modern twist with a constant use of social media. “I wanted to make a found footage film that made sense and when I look at my generation and younger, 90% of the time, their eyes are looking at their phones. The wonders of this age are also a curse, in that we are always connected,” says director Richard Tanner.

“Room For Rent” will be premiering at The Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia on Halloween and A Buck Short is currently running a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo. They also plan to tour the movie on the convention circuit throughout 2017.
